Beautiful Lucy! I like your rendering of the grasses and foliage. The reflections in the water are also really nice. I'm not sure about the tree on the left though. To me it closes in the composition....if it wasn't there, there may be a greater sense of distance, looking towards the horizon. That's just my feeling about it. Otherwise it gives a great sense of tranquility. Love your choice of colors.

Thank you very much Frances. Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do with the tree if I left it in? I'm not sure if I would be able to remove it.

Perhaps create some lighter sky holes on the branches that extend into the sky. This is just an idea. The composition is lovely as is.

I agree, it's a beautiful painting, Lucy! I feel as if I could stand there and look way off into the distance. It's funny but I don't have a problem with the tree on the left at all but I could easily imagine doing without the tree on the right. If there were just shaded marsh grasses on the bottom to cover the corner I think it would work without drawing any extra attention to that area. We all see things differently but it's your vision that matters. It's gorgeous just as it is!

I don't think I can add much to what has already been said - but I like it very much. I think you have done really well to convey the detail in the vegetation in such a small format, and the reflections are beautiful too
