Yay! It's the weekend! Time to make art! I did my usual sketches, and now I'm feeling inspired to try the contour drawing. I might do that later. For now, here are my sketches, directly in ink, 2 hours, 11x8" across the two page spread.

Tyree, Anne, Lulu and Kay M - thank you.
I was inspired to try the contour challenge ... and LOVED IT!! I did a contour of each of the photos, then I did another contour on wc paper and added WC - and re-traced the lines to darken them for the photo.

These are fascinating. We can see how your eye has picked up the rhythms of the reference first. Each drawing has its own character. It is interesting that the animals have appeared almost intact. Perhaps the brain draws on its own internal references for such familiar shapes?
I have to try this!
Nice set of 'Eyepaint Specials' too!

Your contour drawings are terrific. Some of them remind me of Picasso. And your combos are great as always. I love all those faces, canine, feline, and human!

Enjoyed the 'normal' output above Eeps - the animals particularly and the little cameo of flowers on chair ....... but those blind contour works are tremendous pieces - really! They gave me such a sense of participation when looking at them, picking out the areas of likeness ..... such concentration lady!:)
