Nicely done. I'd prefers a tighter crop on the vulture. Those colours are fantastic. I love the eye of the owl.

Lovely paintings, both are really nicely done. It lovely to see your vulture, such misunderstood but amazing birds.

I agree with Phranque re the tighter crop. Both are lovely Christel. Good work on the plumage of the owl and those lovely eyes.

Two lovely bird portraits. The vulture is really interesting, so many shapes and textures and wonderful colours, it keeps you looking. Great owl, I love the one big eye! Good pen lines and the blue really adds something to the feathers and beak. :)

The vulture is an amazing beautiful bird! Your owl composition looks smart too! How do you get such fine lines with OPs?

Thanks Jonc, Fedetony and Kay! The oil pastel details I apply either using the sharp edge of the op or cp, pencil or Dermatograph marker.

I don't know if I would agree about the crop......rule of thirds and all that, I think it looks "just right" as is.
