View Full Version : Cat portrait.... not touched oils for years.

Haven't painted on a flat surface for nearly 10 years, but after some personal alterations in my life I finally have the ability to pick up the brushes again. Here is a quick sketch of our cat, amber in oil. Having not touched oils for 10 years and spending much of my time painting miniature figurines using airbrush and ayclics I struggled with brush control and paint flow using larger brushes.

Anyway here is the result. I do prefer paining landscape, waterscape scenes normally.

Well I hope you keep going with the oils! This is a nice portrait of Amber, I love the eyes.

Than you for the kind comment. I don't plan on stopping using oils again. Just need a bit f practice to get used to it all again. Going to start slow before moving onto challenging landscapes that I used to paint.
