I am finding more time to paint this year and loving it so far, hope I can keep it up.
Last couple of paintings have been in oils but I wanted to try acrylics for their fast drying which would suit me and the limited time I can find to paint.
I must say I love them and I know I will be painting more with them.
Reference for this one was from PMP, on deep edge canvas 30x30cm

This is great, I really like the depth of colour you've achieved and I like the white highlights too. I've been painting a lot with acrylics recently too, they take a bit of adjusting to when you're used to slower-drying paints but I'm starting to like them. :)

Yes i agree Kay, it took a bit to find my ground with them but I think I've got my own system worked out now. I was getting frustrated at how quick they were drying but now I am using that to my advantage. Thank you!

This is awesome work, Holley, love the fine tiny line hairs that make up its fur. Just beautiful!

This is great. You did a wonderful job on this guy. I too found this picture on pmp and have saved it to maybe try one day.

Beautiful! Wonderful texture on his fur, love the way the little hairs of his fur stand out against the dark background!

Lovely little lion Holley, I think you are developing a very individual style with the acrylics. Good job.
