A very small, fast piece.
This is on a 4x6 sample piece of blue Multi Media pastel board that was being handed out at an IAPS convention. They were thinking of introducing some colored boards, and had medium blue, yellow, light red violet (pink), and a turquoise-ish green. So far I've found only white on the market, but I enjoyed the colors very much.

Sun Rise, 4x6, In no particular order I used Sennelier, Blue Earth, Schmincke, Girault, and Unison pastels.

Peggy, your palette speaks to me! Very exciting. Where is the true color of the board showing through the pastel? I particularly like a colored paper.

I too have seen those those colors in the morning. Love the reds and dark greens in the trees and the building of intensity toward the horizon. Beautiful.

Karen this support will easily take a heavy application so there isn't any of the board color showing. Perhaps the best description I can think of would be a medium value of cobalt blue. I'm really hoping they begin producing colors.

Frances we of the Pacific NorthWET haven't seen enough of these skies the past six months. lol I'm so ready for sunshine and temperatures above 60 degrees F. If we don't reach 60 by tomorrow, this will be the first time in 15 years that has happened. The forecasters are hoping, but not promising to reach that temperature tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Thank you Leslie. This was painted with a time restraint. I had an hour to "spare" and wanted to paint. It was almost finished in that hour. It was less than an hour more to finish it.
Here's what it looked like at the end of the first hour.

The little bit of blue in the lower right hand corner is the color of the paper. I hope Karen sees this because she was interested in the paper color. I'd forgotten I had this photo when I responded to her post.
