View Full Version : Twist: Memorial portrait

This is a memorial portrait I did of Ch. Alabiss' Sing Out Loud CD, CGC, HOF, ROM, known to friends and family as Twist, a Toy Manchester Terrier belonging to a friend of mine that I knew for 17 years.

The portrait is 11 x 17 framed, graphite and colored pencil from photos I took of Twist at various times in her life, with the background of the mountains west of Denver, Colorado where she lived most of her life.

Also very pleased to have finally braved the modern technology of digital printing and now have prints of this portrait, one of which will be going to the breed association fundraiser at their national specialty.

Thanks for the compliments on this portrait. I have to admit I think this is one of the best portraits I've ever done ... definitely top 2 or 3 ... absolutely everything just fell into place.

Beautifully and delicately rendered!
Yes sometimes that happens - a painting will just flow and almost paint itself! (It doesn't happen for me very often, but it does happen!):)

Excellent portrait. Beautifully painted dog and the composition is superb. I love the way you've used vivid colours in the landscape and the blanket, yet they don't overpower the main subject.
