I was doing some life drawing on Saturday with friends - something I only do occasionally

All very quick poses and the idea was to get it down freely

In the first one we were only allowed to draw with a square hard sponge - which was a challenge! but fun

Then we were allowed twigs, sponge, paintbrush, water and credit cards to draw with only

and for the final pose of the afternoon we had to draw with chunky graphite sticks (one of mine was water soluble)

exhausting and sketchy, about the learning, observation and mark making, not about finished pieces - and fun

Nice work! Your gesture drawing and proportions are right on the money!

Cool sketches, vhere, especially considering the materials you had.

These are really nice. I'm particularly fond of the pose where the subject has her left arm slung around to her right hip. Great she had her hair up like that so you could have fun straggly strokes.

Thanks :) she's a great model and I actually find it easier when challenged with materials like this - the speed and experimentation with marks keeps things free :)
