and Pacific Black Brant migration is upon us an exciting time in the Salish Sea

this is the second pastel of the day, we checked French Creek Marina on way home and found this sight, 18 x 24" the wind was cold and straight at me but no choice but to try to paint!

more works here and more to be added http://dfgray.com/Spawn17.htm

Ye be a hardy artist to brave the cold damp wind of the Pacific NorthWET, Dan. lol
The light and motion in this painting do depict very well the type of day you describe; very lovely.

I wouldn't know where to begin painting an action-packed scene like this, Dan, so I'm glad someone capable was there to capture it! It's so beautiful and the only thing missing is a soundtrack so we can hear the birds squawking and calling to each other.

Watergirl, Donna I need the sounds and the smells(fish and diesel) to work out the pastels painted two again today it felt pretty cold for the first one then to another bay to find some boats working one came in close enough to ask if he was in the painting! I have tried to paint this event for 24 yearshttp://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/08-Mar-2017/1921-mar8workingnuttlesm.jpg
