Hello everyone!

Saturday, a live drawing group around here organized an afternoon with birds of prey for participants to sketch. It was absolutely amazing :) There were a group of falconers who do education presentations who brought 3 of their birds in the studio and we got to see them from very close and even to hold one of them, a really friendly Harris Hawk named Atlas! Here are a few pictures of the birds and one of me holding Atlas, please excuse my ridiculous smile I was way too happy :P

Here are the sketches I came up with, not very good I know but it was my first time really drawing live animals and not from pictures. They are done in Pitt brush pens and Tombow dual-brush markers in a Canson XL Mix Media sketchbook 7x10".

Let me know what you think!

Wow, so exciting to do this! Love all your sketches!
We had bird sanctuary people come who brought all sorts such as these, a buzzard, owls, etc., all who were birds being rehabbed then released.

How lucky were you to get up so close to these wonderful birds!
I think your live sketches are terrific, and very well rendered! Especially more so as you were doing tthem from live models! Well done Viginie!

Great ;)... I suppose having them moving all the time makes it difficult to use as reference...
