MY COMMENTS:
This was the first painting I ever did, and now want to improve since i have a "little" bit more experience. I love doing flowers and still life but, also landscape is appealing to me now. This has been hanging at my Husbands work place (yikes!) so I ask him to bring home so I could try to correct problems with it.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I would love some suggestions and enhancing would be great if you can.

right this is objects
If your husband enjoys it in the office - tell him it's great and send it back to the office.

not much is necessary.
next time
don't think objects
don't do objects
think canvas edge to edge as a unit as a character
think color
think connections and movement
think release of essence (not capture)
the negative spaces become as
magic as the emergence of form - they are united
no objects
no backgrounds
just painting.
simplify reality to enhance the embrace of things.

see, no sense fixing this, it's fine, the foundation is more philosophical - that is where to work.

proportion may not matter nor realistic layout either.
many great paintings have bent assymetrical vases
unnatural flowers and people with impossible features
crooked tables set off at an angle, but ohh the light
oooh the color interactions - that is where the heart of it is.

All the elements are lovely, but the composition could be livened up I think. Four items is hard to work with, 3 or 5 might be better. Perhaps the large vase off center and the one on the right moved in.......... Try printing it, cut out the shapes and move them around until the grouping looks interesting. The spaces between the objects should be interesting too. I like the pastel soft colours.
