I painted this piece for Homestead National Monument in Nebraska after being an artist in residence there. It was such a beautiful place with huge skies, clouds always hurrying across.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/02-Mar-2017/225111-Nebraska_Sky.jpg

The colors of the ground and sky work very well together.
Lots of creativity in those cloud formations.

Gorgeous sky, Lisa! I love how you interpret cloud shapes and how they interact with the land.

Thanks, all of you. I'm in a slump right now and so am looking a few of these older pieces to remember how I love pastel.

Donna, this phrase, "I love how you interpret cloud shapes and how they interact with the land." Is super helpful and such an interesting way of looking at things.

I hope your slump is just a temporary bump in the road, Lisa. I see a lot of poetry in the motion of your clouds and the way the land pushes up at them and they react. My literal brain overrides this potential when I try to paint and I admire those of you who can interpret things a little differently.

Very dynamic sky!

Beautiful. I too admire the ability to turn off the literal brain and to be so expressive.

Wonderful expression of color and movement. I bet this one is a real eye grabber in real life since it is so large.
