Hi all. For a change, the sun is shining today. My first daffodil has bloomed in the garden...so Spring is just around the corner.

Time to spring clean ... artwise!

Maybe time to try new techniques, make a plan to do more art, add new supplies to your stock!

What are you up to -artistically- this month?

I enrolled in the Lets Face it class run by Kara Bullock and I am struggling away trying out new mixed media techniques... Not much has become a finished piece but that's OK as its a training exercise mostly, and hopefully something will 'stick' and become incorporated into my work. That's the plan.

Here's one from this week's class by Deb Weier on using stabilo pencils and pen for a whimsical face.

I also started taking a pencil drawing live class once a week with Darrel Tank.
I'm not a big pencil fan but everything I did has been flat looking and I need some basic training and already this has helped .

I would like to be more active here than I've been......I think I'll copy Brian:thumbsup: .....he is definitely on the right track.....a painting a day......I KNOW that is REALLY what I want.....I must put on my big gurl pants and DO IT! I've got work I'm adding to now and then, and sketching now and then........I'll not get to the next level like this.
If I miss a day I'll try doubly the next day.....I have no excuse.....ya'll probably don't need to hear all this but I must do it now or I never will.

Here's the current sketch I'm working on....needs the darks yet.

Anyone up for a photo paintalong? I've got some to work with....I'll post them and you can add yours if you like.

If you like to paint miniatures, here's an interesting idea I just found on the internet....using old credit cards as surfaces to paint on. Its like a ready-made miniature painting board. I guess you just sand it lightly, add gesso, and then paint!!

Have you tried it?

Here's a chalk board I did the other day......funny thing is that the 2 people I've asked how they liked the image said "What's the big deal, just a couple people enjoying coffee" - just a little bit clueless, http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/17-Apr-2017/88676-chalkcouple4:8:17.gif
