Based on the large saw mills at Port Blakely Bainbridge island near Seattle.
I don't know if the railway ran in this position, but it helps to fill the canvas, and its only 'Based' on Port Blakely, btw it is a Climax Geared Locomotive shifting some Giant Redwoods.
One for those who like a painting you can explore!.

Good one Jim. Always interesting to look back and imagine how different some locations have looked through history as humanity progressed , needs and technology changed or resources simply ran out .

Very cool depiction! I like the extra wide, panoramic format on this one. If you want to read an interesting story, read up on the inventor of the first logging locomotive, the Shay. It is a story of persistence, when nothing like it, even existed.

Fascinating little locos! I've yet to hear one live, but from what I understand, they are high RPM machines, that sound like busy little beavers when they're running.
