You've produced quite a range of fine works there Don .Hope you got plenty of sales .

yes, I was there also (no doubt you saw the recent Skyhawk and SR71 paintings?)
As Don said it was hot and the tent was not well placed but I think there was plenty of traffic through most of the day.
Unfortunately I didnt sell any paintings but quite a few prints so that covered the cost for sure.
I also picked up a rather neat souvenir. One of the planes there was a KC-135 tanker of the "Young Tigers" and I bought a 'coin' off them (see image attached). I asked what the money was for and they rather self consciously (I thought) said it was for their mess parties etc!! Once I got the coin back to the art show I noticed a strange inscription on the flip side of it. NKAWTG... at the top and ... NOBODY at the bottom. Back I went to ask the meaning of this..
and here it is..
Nobody Kicks Ass Without Tanker Gas... ... Nobody!
(ass rhymes with gas)

That is a cool coin! They give them to us here and often, they are cryptic as well (for good reason, N2K or Need 2 Know!).

Thanks for putting these up. A lot of excellent art. Really liked the F4 Phantom and the Lancaster taking off at dusk (dawn?). The clouds and sky in the Lancaster pic are outstanding and worth a careful study.

Well well well, turns out the exhibition was good to me too!
Had a couple of emails last week asking if my Skyhawk painting was still for sale and after getting the affirmative a chap turned up last evening for it after depositing the $$ into my account already!
Turns out he is a local plastic surgeon keen to hang some RNZAF aviation art on his surgery walls. Told me that in his early days he really wanted to be an air force pilot and the 'doctoring' was just to pay for the flying lessons!!!
I wouldnt be at all surprised if he didnt have his own plane as it turns out he certainly is a top surgeon and the substantial sum I was asking seemed not to be an issue.
so away it flew..
Now Id better start the Blunty he wants (Strikemaster).
you just never know eh?
