View Full Version : WDE Feb. 21, tweens, a bit late!

I painted this this weekend but haven't had a chance to post it. Not much of a chance now, but the week is getting away from me!
Obviously I took liberties with this reference, and I painted it mostly with a 3" brush, so there are no facial features. This is acrylic, 12"x16", and took probably 2.5 hours (started Saturday night and finished Sunday).
Be back to comment on everyone's!

I love the abstract quality, HollyJ. I like the way you used angular strokes throughout.

Terrific tweens, Holly! Love your loose style which can be done with a large brush like that.

Very well done. Painterly and unfussy but captures the poses, the light and the atmosphere.

Fascinating and evocative - I feel a sense of wonder as to the people and place!

Abstract is not usually for me, but this just grabbed me. Lovely!

So glad you posted! This is very inspiring!!! I struggle with figures and portraits in general. You have said so much in 2.5 hrs. Well done!

I loved it! The capturing of figures is wonderfully done.
Very nice and lose acrylic. I really like it that you can't see the details.
