View Full Version : WDE Feb- 3. The rusting old truck

It is months since I last posted an image. What with colds, British football on TV, and a busy life I just didn't have time or inclination.
Anyhow, I am back,http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/08-Feb-2017/1962159-IMG_1419_541x800.jpg with my rendition of the old truck. It is 4and1/2 X 6and1/2 inches on what I think is an off cut of orange Canson pastel paper. I used a variety of oil pastels ranging from high to low quality, and got into some of the awkward spots with oil pastel pencils. It was a challenge and took about 3 hours.

Cartledge, this is really special! Lends itself well to the media used, nice and rusty.

Beautiful colors and the old truck definitely has a rusty look. I also like the textures in the road and background that you're getting with the oil pastels. Welcome back!

Welcome back! Great textures in your piece, I love the way you did that front wheel, so detailed.

Welcome back. For me, oil pastels are one of the hardest mediums to use and this is great!

Nicely done with the o.p.s! I like how the abstracted background allows us to focus on the old truck.

Welcome back  I love your portrayal of the ancient machinery tilting and rusting away in such serene surroundings.

Good job and glad to see you back. I have never used the oil pastels.
