Cool little Demo. I like charcoal too but I have problems with the dust.

problems as in you don't like it or breathing?
Yesterday the Leicester Sketch Club in conjunction with the local museum/gallery, ran a sketching day. Lots of members and the public joining in, chatting, asking questions etc etc. We had about 300 through, so busy!
I knew I wouldn't get chance to do a lot as I was on chatting-to-the-public duty, but managed to get this done. Rapid sketches of people who weren't sitting very still.

This started life as a demo to a group about drawing in ink with twigs and was finished at home. Done from a sketchbook painting that had been done sitting on the clifftop.
A mix of de Atramentis sepia ink and Daler Rowney acrylic ink in Paynes gray and white. Drawing implement - a couple of pencil length twigs from bushes in the garden. Also a brush and water to get thin washes. On brown parcel wrapping paper as an experiment, which now needs ironing :).

Nice sketches of the people. I like your idea for sketching on the brown parcel wrapping paper. It makes a great toned paper for your super sketch.

This is a neat sketch. The brown parcel wrapping paper and twigs is also a neat idea. I tried one the other day with a twig and I made a mess. I finished it off with a 2"x4" as I beat it into oblivion.

And one in an A3 sketchbook. A studio day with a model. I'd planned to use charcoal but there were some nice colours - and I'd only got coloured pencils, no paint or pastel :( - so I used the cps.

This is a really nice study, I think it is a bit more than a sketch. Lovely work.

I enjoy the colours behind the woman in the studio live model portrait. :)

thank you :)
The colours were more vivid but the model had very subtle colouring so I muted them a little but they were lovely

Love the muted look to the colors in the portrait. Nicely done!
