Here's my newest piece that I just completed yesterday! This is a Bare-faced Go-away Bird from Tanzania. I'm very happy with the outcome and he turned out even better than I expected. I had so much fun watching this guy in Africa and I couldn't wait to do a piece of him. Hope you all enjoy!
"Bare-faced and Beautiful"
11" X 14"

Brilliant work. No wonder you are pleased!
Scratchboard is such a good medium for texture of feathers and fur!

Thanks very much, fedetony! Nope, I don't have a zoo near me, so most of my photos are taken from the wild when I get the chance. :)

Lovely work Shalese, great feather detail. I don't think I ever saw one of these birds on our travels in Africa. I am partial to the Secretary Bird, and the Lilac breasted roller.

Thanks a lot, Robert! :)
Thanks very much, Barbra! We saw around 5 or so when we were there. I didn't know if we were going to see any, but I was really hoping so! And yes, both those birds are wonderful as well. :D
