SWEET CHARIOT
(concept for oil painting)
7 x 14.5 in., graphite on toned paper
Private Collection

'Sweet Chariot' (unofficially named 'Ragged But Right') was a B-17G Flying Fortress that flew with the 96th Bomb Group's 337th Bomb Squadron. Accepted into the inventory on 9 Dec 44, she arrived overseas on 3 Jan 45 and flew regular combat missions until damaged by flak and crash landing near her base at Snetterton Heath on 11 May. This will be a 17 x 36 in. painting.

Looks wonderful. Love the angle you've picked to view the B-17 from.
