MY COMMENTS:
This picture is for my sister-in-law who has all matter of butterfly objects decorating her office. I had done pastels on canvas in the past, but with this one I realized that the previous pictures had been done on canvas affixed to a board, not stretched. I noticed that the canvas frame became very visible as the work progressed. I will work on blending the frame out. I would appreciate critique about color selection, technique, or anything to help with future works

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Comments on any of the example questions would be appreciated.

I think it is too early to comment much beyond the obvious- you need a lot more contrast. The values are too much alike. I'll look for any follow up photos- and I suggest you trim the photos you post and make sure they are close to the original as you can get them.

Good use of symmetry and offsetting it with a slant, but does need more contrast.
