Hey eyepaint!

Your drawing style reminds me of the cartoonist Gahan Wilson. With. . . maybe. . .just a touch of Japanese print type stuff in the more landscape-y nature-y ones.

Keep on going!

eyepaint, these are beautiful sketches. It's so interesting how you can this many WDE sketches onto one page.

What size sketchbook are you using?

eyepaint
05-03-2017, 10:20 AM
Sculptcha, DLander, and Sandra - thank you.

Sandra - my book has 5.5x8" pages so it's 11x8" across the two page spread like this. I have to use a rather fine tip pen to do these. I've also used an 8x5x11" sketchbook so for a two page spread there I could use (and have used) a Sharpie :)

Here are my sketches from the May 5 WDE (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1427060) hosted by SnapV.

I worked on my sketches for a while, set my book down, and picked it up again and completed the drawings ... and then discovered that around half my drawings are upside down!!! Wow!

So....

I will post my sketches here twice, so you won't have to stand on your head.

Lovely updates, of course. I find that every now and then I stumble upon something, and I have no idea what it could be... like the second box down on the left on the first page. I kind of like that. It makes me stop and try to figure it out.

Interesting idea. I looked up the WDE's. The photos are obvious just a starting point. I am trying to imagine the next step. Gary

Great sketches, EP! It is good to see that some of the same people are still doing the WDE. I used to enjoy doing them, but now I usually go out with the NYC Urban Sketchers one day on the weekend and it uses up my spare time.

Hee hee, you got upside-down kitty great, especially expression! Also that grand goat gesture, very dramatic! Cool wheel rim and guy with top hat, all of this is so cool. Love the way your pages shine.

So cool! Love the bits of color in some frames, just a touch for context. The hat, the green leaves... excellent! Sweet cats and interesting take on the donkey. Love the way you included the clock.
