Done in Gimp- not quite done- I need to work on water a bit more, and add a bit more detail to sails and rigging- C&C Welcome

By the way, artwork is supposed to be posted in the Digital Art Showcase section. The main section is more for technical discussion.

ok thanks- i see that sticky thread about the showcase now- I didn't pay attention before- my bad- Thansk for the heads up- if a mod coudl move this and my other one abotu hte 57 chevy to that forum that woudl be great-

Thanks Yorky- Yeah, it's not the easiest software to work with- I've been messing aobut with rebelle program lately which i really like for water colors- I do have phtoshop which i like better than gimp=- but i have to reboot into my second operating system in order to use it which is kind of a pain sometimes- so lately I've been just staying in linux and using gimp

Beautiful! The reflections on the wet beach are so well done.

If you're running Linux, you might want to also take a look at Krita for digital painting, particularly if you've got KDE as your desktop. I hear a lot of good things about Krita and Inkscape, too. (Inkscape is vector.)

Thanks- the colors really worked well against such a desturated greyish blue background i think
