View Full Version : Can anyone recommend an IPS monitor and calibration device for this situation?

Hi Everyone, hope it's OK to ask you here! :) :grouphug:

Purpose: to get accurate colors for art prints, with an online print company that only accepts sRGB files

Laptop: supports up to 2048x1536, 16.7 million colors

Total budget: max $900 preferably

Actually, I was about to buy the Asus PA249Q monitor, but got scared when I saw this thread on a photography forum, dpreview.com

The thread says, when calibrating, instead of the calibration device bringing the monitor back to zero (Assume zero is 100% calibrated) it just removes the tones that are wrong and that makes the grey tones develop their own colour cast, so it's causing more problems than fixing them.

I have never used one but I have heard others using one called a Spider.
