View Full Version : Waterfall in Pastel

I've driven past Lucia Falls several times this summer and have wanted to stop and take some pictures. I finally got the opportunity to do so late yesterday afternoon. The water is low this time of year, so I was able to get out on the rocks and get a different perspective.
I did this in art rage, on layer, trying to keep it looking like pastel. I've always loved all those little glimmers of color you get from layering pastels, and tried for that in this one.
C&Cs always welcome

Lovely work. The glimmer shows the pastel strokes.

Thank you. they say there's salmon in the Lewis River, but I've never seen any. I did notice signs the other day, that it is a sensitive ecology area, and there's no contact with the water, so perhaps it is a spawning area? Either way it is a very beautiful place, and lots of small waterfalls, and water tumbling over rocks.
