Title: Gate in Bamberg Germany
Dimension: 18 X 24
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!
I painted this from a photo I took on a trip to Germany so the colors are true to the ones on the buildings. Before I vanish it, I would like any comments that I could do to make this better.
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I would like to sell my work but haven't a clue on pricing or where to see my work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The scale seems off. The people are far too small.

Very nice , architecturally it looks right but the paint looks flat , I think it needs some highlights adding to the facade to make the features three dimensional

Thanks for the suggestions. I have made the people twice the size of the original & will add some highlights to the building.

Did you have a look at the Memorial Stone inside the covered bridge section?

I don't remember the memorial stone but it has been several years since we were there.
I have made the people in the painting larger twice and painted out some of the balcony & windows to make it in better scale.
Thanks for your comments.

Yeah, the scale and perspective bothered me too. I made modifications to the scale of the people near the gate (took out the existing people just for clarity). They should be about 1/3 the height of that gate. No shortage of photos on the web for this gate. Also, I scaled down the windows. They were huge. I brought the top of the gate structure down to meet the new window height. The gap between the top and bottom windows is too large on my version as I didn't want to spend that much time in Photoshop. Also the perspective on the roof seems too severe. Also tinkered with the farthest building seen though the gate. I darkened it like the closest building wall since they seem to be on the same plane and in the shade. Put a little more sky blue with the clouds. Just a personal touch.
On the positive side, I love the depth you created with the background. Very effective. The foreground trees are also very nice.

There is a Plaque inside the gate arch to Claus von Stauffenberg.
