MY COMMENTS:
I am enjoying painting, teaching myself with the help of Wet Canvas and videos. So this is my latest effort ,the image is from a live web cam photo

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I am having trouble with the suns rays, the more I try the less they improve, your comments are sought and will be appreciated

I think you're off to a great start - this is beautiful.
The sun rays are way too wide, thick, heavy.
Maybe what I would have done is pick up yellow paint from the circumference and quickly and lightly drag the brush away from it to get a more natural and subtle streaked effect.
Just a thought (I find acrylics tough to manage at the best of times). I painted the lines of the hair on my avataur using a comb.

Thank you for your reply, and great advice. That is exactly my problem I have been looking at a photograph, and what a camera sees thru a lens when it looks at sun rays, think I can salvage my painting now
Tried oils a few weeks back and they are a whole lot less temperamental than acrylics.
