Mediums acrylic and oils on board size 25x38 inches.
The picture shows ordinary people having a break from their routine life with a day on the river. They are hoping to catch some of the winter run of Cod in the Mersey.

We don't often see views of the modern buildings on the river front Dave. Nice work.

Thanks for your comment Doug,I know some local marine artists hate them and yearn for the old water front, but we can't go back.I myself like them and think that they enhance the view for a visiting cruise ships passengers .

Dave, great job on this, especially in capturing the look of early morning light and the sun reflecting on the water. Do people really go fishing so close to what appears to be the city center?

Excellent scene Dave! I really like the way you painted the buildings in the foreground. The sky and water is incredible as well. Awesome job with this!

Thank you for your comments AnnieA. Yes they do fish this close to the city center, the charter skippers have to make a living during the winter months and it is often too rough to fish outside the river, luckly the fish still follow deep channels up the river for many miles. However sometimes it is even too rough in the river for several weeks on end,and the skippers lose a lot of money.
