Are you kidding me Carly??? I love this.
Your own style, loose yet not lost - they move - want to brighten up the whites myself but know the scanner messes with whites.
Geez, you do amaze me .... http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif Carol

It's really rather good! If that's what you can produce after 15 years of not touching the medium, then think what you could do if you painted a watercolour every day for the next week or two?
I'm just getting my hand in again after a break of just 6 months, and beleive me, I was WAY rustier than this...

If this is after 15 years of not painting watercolor I can't imagine what it would like if you had kept at it. I like the flower very much because it has the fluidity that shows off the medium at its best. Did you enjoy getting out you watercolors? What made you decide to use them again? Hope you'll keep at it and share images.

carly I like it too but wonder if strengthening the darks and middle values might help? Maybe a little red violet as the shadow turns. You know me I love to enrich everything with color. keep doing w/c cause it shows good things.
you better not put them away again,
keep up the good work,

Thanks everyone! I call watercolors the "spastic" medium....but perhaps I should call myself the "spastic" watercolorist! lol...
This was just a first attempt...but I'm going to paint another white flower and see if I can improve upon it!
I really appreciate all the suggestions.

I wish I could still paint like that after 15 years sometimes I have problems when I have left my brush unattended for a few hours....lol
Let's see more
