I don't remember ever painting a flower as I prefer painting people more than anything. So this is really new for me. I'm not a flower person I guess you could say;at least in watercolor!
But this was fun to paint.
Thought I would share it with you.

I don't agree. Your painting says essance of sunflower and shows the glory of watercolor. What is the size? I like the granulating paint.

Hi Gisele - love your painting. Good work IMHO, and I like the gentle humour of a face. She is obviously a person flower!

An excellent painting. I find it quite compelling to look at. Something in it resonates with me. Nice work.

Thank you everyone for your comments! Amelia, tha granulating is partly du to ultramarine blue, the paper (I think) and the scanning. I'm not very familiar with scanning an image the right size for posting here and it seems to me so extra granulating occured in the process.
The size is 10 inches by 13 1/2 inches.
I am spending the week at an International music and dance festival and I filmed turkish, ukrainian and brazilian dancers last night...so I can have some "fresh" material for my future paintings...will keep you posted on that!
Thank you again for your comments everyone!
