Pen and ink studies. Brush with ink. Pouring inks on paper. You may use black ink, coloured inks, and any other techniques.

Please post your ink work for this month in this thread.

I will post a few photos from the reference library to get us started.

Feel free to add any of your own photos for us to draw from.

You may prefer to draw from life....or from imagination! The choice is yours...as long as you work with ink.

Looking forward to your artwork.

I love this one June ! That bird and the Isle of Capri seemed to
be the popular choice of drawings. As I had said, that b/g
is perfect for this bird too !!
I have the toucan picked out for my ink and w/c study !

I love the toucan Tyree. He's looking at us out of the corner of his eye that way birds do! Great vibrant color from the watercolours. He's a rascal.

I'm hoping to do him too.

Here's my toucan attempt in pen and ink with wax crayons. A4 size on craft paper.

I think its the first time I've combined pen with wax crayons like this.

You get very rich colors out of those wax crayons.

If I have time I'll do something for this project, maybe in pen with colored pencils, a combination that I rather like. Here's one I did some years ago:

Lovely drawing of the barbet Brian. I haven't tried the combo of ink and coloured pencil!

I like wax crayons...you can use them lightly for sketches, or press hard for solid colour.

I've been pretty engaged here and am glad to see this opportunity.

Susan, June, & Brian- nice studies........

Going to babysit Granddaughter while her parents are in Europe....so I 'll take these lovely photos along and play with them during nap time.

Thanks,
