The scratchboard art world has lost a giant today, with the passing of Diana Lee, Master Scratchboard Artist. To know Diana was to love her and she touched the lives of many with her work and her words. Her artwork was an inspiration to every scratchboard artist that saw it, with her use of dramatic lighting, lost edges and a mastery of composition and design. The person behind the artwork was equally impressive, as Diana always had a smile on her face and a word of encouragement or sage advice to those she communicated with. She shared her work, her techniques and her heart freely, and all of them will be missed tremendously. RIP Diana Lee - you leave a huge hole in the hearts of all that knew you.

You can find MANY posts by Diana here on Wetcanvas and also view her work on her web site at www.dianalee.com

Diana was indeed an amazing artist and wonderful human being. She will live on by her humanity and her unparalleled body of art. So grateful I had the opportunity to learn and benefit from the numerous comments of encouragement and support she gave me and others here on Wetcanvas.

Did you all know that Diana was one of the driving forces in getting this scratchboard forum started? She was also one of the founding members of our International Society of Scratchboard Artists (ISSA) She loved this medium and was so generous with her talents, all to encourage new people to to try their hand. She was a wonderful woman and a dear friend. She will be missed.

Definitely a huge void in this forum. So much instruction and help in a variety of ways to those that wondered how this all worked. Her many posts will live on and be a great benefit to those who need help.

I didn't know Diana and rarely visit the Scratchboard forum, but the world will miss here wonderful talent for producing art.

Always puzzled by the medium I have a better understanding after reading Diana's website description of scratchboard as a form of etching.

I have altered her membership to Deceased.
