Wow , you're very fast . And the Germany dog painting looks excellent and prominent in beauty. I feel eager to post dog pictures since it's challenge enough . Your dog painting has beautiful fur , nicely drew and finished . I just think that it's incredible work. You manager the technique very well. Keep on ! I'll post the cats later . Firstly I have to search my photo files .

I gave the cliffs a go. 9x12 I added a gull but it doesn't 'pop'. C+c welcome.
No solvents were used but I did add a bit of white oil paint.

Wonderful texture and color on the rocks...you are right, the gull is lost.

I like that German Shepard so l tried that . Isn't finished , just started , I use a ruler to determine size and distance of each facial features . Once I got correct measurment , I just drop that and fill in color , modifying and then painting as I kept going in progress
05-20-2016, 09:15 AM
Nice start alan...
05-20-2016, 11:13 AM
I was once using tracing paper to make the exact copy of the object I drew . That was a method using too much time on tracing and thoughtlessly neglecting advices and skills . Anyway i found correct measurment and placements of facial features could help me to achieve likeness of the person or pet . I use a calliper to measure how far the eyes nose and mouth shall located and related . it is easy
05-21-2016, 10:49 AM
Here is an update of the work , crazy little German Shepard still unfinished .
Wait for another update ! Ok
05-22-2016, 12:17 AM
This looks great so far, Allan.
05-23-2016, 10:34 AM
Another update .i am using complimentary Colors here which is orange and blue . Because of complimentary color laid against each other side by side . The color looks vibrant and vivid . It'll be the same effect as if red and green , yellow and purple if they drew together that way .

05-23-2016, 01:24 PM
Coming along wonderfully..
05-24-2016, 12:17 PM
Thanks Pat and Tuscanny . And everyone who drop by to see . I hope the spirit of creating art don't deminish too soon. There are few more days good enough to do a challenge .
The dog work is about A3 size and laid on its vertical axis (will be trimmed to A4 ) was using Pentel only ! Amazing only using the 48 color set .
05-26-2016, 05:00 AM
Here is another update ! Closer to finish

The color is vibrant cause the complementary color ( sorry spelling this word wrongly all time) in action. Orange & Blue gives the dog a shining look . Thanks Pat & Tuscanny your comments !
