Posted this in the Cityscape forum as well. It's my new 11-12 color lino reduction print. I'm torn on whether or not I will include a 12th color of black to the print. The areas are going to be so small that I think I can just get away with a very dark grey that would be printed before it. I think sometimes black can be too stark of a contrast to the rest of the image.

When I first decided on this image (which is obviously cropped) I only estimated 6 colors....haha....I was wrong. I wanted to add a lot more detail and that meant adding colors. So far registration has been spot on (for once)...I'm printing an edition of 10, but unfortunately this morning I lost one due to not paying enough attention while preparing to run the plate through the press. The paper got well embossed with a piece of loose, unmounted lino that I use as a spacer on the one end so that the paper does hang over the edge. It accidentally found it's way onto the block itself instead right up to the edge....the block has some minor indentation, but I think I can fix it.

hats off to you for attempting reduction and using a lot of colors. Results are looking impressive here.

Got to finally print the next color. This color was actually intended, but I felt it was necessary. I was going to use the light purple of the neon tubing as the color for something else. After printing it and staring at it, I decided that it was too dark and so I added the 6th color. My 11 color print now stands at 12 colors.
