I saw a video done by this artist. I was intrigued and amazed by his use of a very bright green as an under painting. The video is speeded up and it is difficult to see which pastel pencils he uses or the order of layering. I hope someone can suggest some colors to use. The Internet has mostly oil painting for a verdaccio approach. Thank you for any advice. I have learned a lot from Spotlight.
www.icuong.com is his web site

Sherry, Cuong is a master of portraiture, both oil and pastels. His history is quite interesting. I believe he has a few videos. Try Cuong1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haDizn5fp3k), Cuong 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLhO3PSkIUg), Cuong 3 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcaLROcTo-w), and Cuong 4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ4RlTsbNOY&ebc=ANyPxKpdNOzBW5R4lEj5PGSUcVySR_ZaIL0STPg6IdC3LGBomJVqP9K3qL_Hp9HhlGxp32-02R-eZSmaZSThP1lxX1X9lyyHAg). The third one is in real time and may show the colors a bit better. He holds workshops up in the San Francisco/San Jose area. If you go to his blog you will get a better idea of just how prolific he is. If you get to meet him in person, you will see that his smile can light up a room.

Thank you. I looked at 3 and was able to see the pencils. Luckily, he posted some tutorials on Facebook which may help. Do you know of any other pastel artists who use this method.
