Yes, it's that time again
- the beginning of the 2016 year and this is the time you can post your best work in this Forum for the previous year - 2015

Any member who posted artwork in this Forum in 2015 may post ONE painting/drawing/artwork here in this "Best Of".... Thread

Please don't forget to post the link to your original thread, and tell us why you consider this artwork your best for this Forum for 2015

No comments on other members paintings posted please. This thread is for artwork only

Here's mine. Most of my paintings in 2015 were for the Monthly Challenges.
This one was for the December Challenge and I like it because, it was one of those watercolor paintings that just went ok right from the beginning...doesn't happen that way for me very often!
Here's the link to the December Challenge Thread;

I don't post a lot in this forum, but this guy was done for Robert's November Fur, Scales & Feathers Challenge. Jaguar, 11 x 12" Watercolor, white gel pen for whiskers.

The thread is here (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1391495&page=6). Scroll to the bottom.

My best for 2015 is the zebras fighting from a reference by Mike Haworth. It was a lot of work but well worth it.

My favourite painting is this one:

I chose this because I spend a lot of time on this one. It's also the first painting where I painted something pink, and I had to go out especially to get the paint for it. I was really pleased with how it turned out.

I originally posted it in this thread. (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1380769&highlight=galah)

I joined the November Challenge with this version of Sacha the Jaguar.

I consider this painting as a very successful attempt keeping in mind also that I made it only for joining the Challenge and not for any other particular reason. This painting was sold for 300 euros after a couple of days on my website. The moral of the story? To join more challenges in the future of course!

This is my favourite painting in WC for2015:

Chose this painting to celebrate the return to the UK of a wildlife icon, The Osprey. The painting allowed me to attempt to capture movement, to show the Osprey's natural feeding habit & because I have a fascination with attempting to paint water.

I chose this particular painting, "North Woods Majesty" as my best for 2015 because it not only challenged me, but turned out to be better than I was hoping. I don't do large pieces much (they can be overwhelming for me), but this 24" X 30" was worth it. :)

My Snow Leopard. Pastel Pencils on Mi-Teintes Tex Paper

Portrait of 3 Siamese
11x14, acrylic

I picked this one because it required composing the scene from a series of snapshots of the cats & furniture to make a cohesive "scene". I'm pleased with how this multiple portrait turned out. (So are the couple who own the 3 cats!)

the framed art above is complete, I don't think I had done the whiskers yet in the link version.

Blue Frog 7x10 inches, Utrecht french 140lb cold pressed French Rag Paper, Daniel Smith Watercolor Paint.

I chose this blue frog that I painted for the August Fur Feathers and scales Challenge as the best work of 2015 because I liked the way the color scheme played out, with the heavily saturated blues working well against the intense siennas and red oranges. In addition I hadn't done much work with amphibians as models so it really was a challenge for me to paint this frog. My Frog has found his way into the collection of a Wall street stock broker. He no doubt likes the view of Manhattan! As always, Deb Hill

I think this one was a very good achievement in quality and size. It's quite impressive in real 150x50x10cm, Acrylic on canvas.
