Very nice, I love the greens and purples (specially the eyes) but I'm having problem focusing on a central figure...eyes keep bouncing back and forth between the two figures. Other than that, this is great!

I am not very smart about abstract work, so best I not try to comment there. The hand and the eyes on the left however, I really like.....a young girl reaching out for another ? http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif Carol

indecision is the emotion I was going for here ... here the bouncing between the two figures you noticed, Winddancer.
OleCC --
I would describe it more as the left girl ripping open her skull (while trying to hold it shut, hence the title, reluctant offering)to release the benign, but seemingly alien ultimate peace--right figure, eyes closed and winged to symbolize calm.
Side bar--
I wouldn't consider this to be an abstract piece ... my husband agrees with OleCC that it is ... What quantifies abstract Vs. representational?
I say because everything in the painting is identifieable as a specific thing, it is representational.
interested in everyone's ideas on that ....

jnett,

I like the colors...greens and purples...my interp would be she let loose and free her mind to give her a sense of peace and calm...girl to right.

Why don't you post a topic on abstract vs. representational in the debates forum??

Warmth,
ReNae
