Thanks Pat.
I painted the rose a while ago on A4 black card with white gesso for the under painting on the rose and using Pentels.

This is lovely Christel. Great work on the leaves and the rose sits in the space perfectly.

7"x10" finished in roughly 4 hours...
I see some areas I may want to tweak, we'll see. :clear:

amasacross,

this looks very good the way it is. i would vote against tweaking it. i like that it looks more like a painting and less like a photograph.

I decided to combine 2 references and ended up with more changes to the foreground. I can't really decide if it was very successful though. 18x29cm

Well done, Maela! Those facial features are so difficult to paint and you've managed very well. I like the full neckline of the dress.
You might think of extending the green to under her hand.

Hello, I dug out my oil pastels this morning and did a quick take on the Forest reference pic, tried some scratching and a bit on the abstract side!

Thanks Allan. I do find portraits slightly challenging though.
Raini - great paintings. The blue forest has a cool abstract feel to it
The horse is cool. I like the repetition of the blues.
