GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: Hollywoods
Year Created: 2003
Medium: Digital
Surface: Plastic
Dimension: 11.5 x 12
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
This is an illustration of an episode in a story; the heroes have strayed into the Holly Woods grove in the the Werewoods of Werewibiat (pronounced: "Where we be at?") Forest. They are becoming "hypmotized". Cosmo will save them.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Looking for critique on rendering; what's wrong and what's right, what will kick it up a notch, expanding on what's there. That sort of thing.

Thanks.

There are several things that woul "kick it up a notch" as far as the art goes, but I think you have captured the necessary feeling very well. Anything done to make the painting more visually stimulation would probably detract from the intended illustration. Are there any other dangers in these woods, besides the toothy trees? I don't really get a sense of any ominous threat. Eyes in the ground cover or branches? Great trees and atmosphere.

I really like it. Love the teeth in the trees. Since exact realism would not be a factor here, I'd like to see just a bit more color in the characters.....and maybe just a tad in the foreground.

I have no idea what the real guidelines for illustration is, but my feeling was that I little more contrast would bring the characters out a little. (although it is a night scene)

I just love the background, tree roots, characterís noses as well as the wizardís mustache, well done.
