Hi.
Can I post here some sketches and paintings that I have already made, but are not related with the pictures of the project? They are of course related with the subject. Hands and feet. :)

Ok .. Here are my hand and feet paintings ( till now - but I have in mind to paint some more).

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/03-Dec-2015/1967079-My_Foot-_Watercolour_Sketch-_Artist_Marialena_Sarris-_5-2015.jpg

My foot that it was hurt when I painted it ..and I paint it because I had it in front of me on the desk.

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/03-Dec-2015/1967079-My_Hand_-_Watercolour_Sketch-_Artist_Marialena_Sarris_-_8-2015.jpg

And this is my hand that I sketch it while I was in a train travelling already for 8 hours ( and having to wait other 6 to get to my destination- quite long trip). I was bored madly and I didn't have something else to do so I sketched my hand. Both watercolours were made with Van Gogh paints on A4 sketchbook.

And finally a painting that I made back on 2010.

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/03-Dec-2015/1967079-The_Bleeding_Rings-_Oil_Painting-_Artist_Marialena_Sarris-_2010.JPG

This is 40x50 cm canvas but I don't remember the brand of oils. I think they were Van Goghs but I'm not sure.

C&C are welcomed :)

P.S I'm interested about this project so I will post something new later on. If I don't reply don't take it wrong. I'm loosing the threads :o (Honestly now... I couldn't find this thread after I made my previous post.. I've lost it).

Thank you for looking.

First of all, a quick useful tip for recovering posts you subscribed to but cant find....the 2nd horizontal blue bar at the top of the page....go to myWC, which is at the left...and click on it.

This takes you to your wetcanvas information.

It will list your new subscribed threads...very useful if you lose our way.

Also in the left column, there is also another button to get to your subscribed threads...in case of older threads.

I make it sound complicated but its not...just a matter of clicking mywc and you'll find it easy after that!!

Hope it helps.

I love your paintings of your hand and foot. Especially the one done on the train...how cool is that! It turned out so beautifully! A lovely watercolour technique.

If you have time you may want to try one of the photos. Or you can paint from life...or other photos of your own.

We don't adhere to a very strict policy in these projects....as long as you are more or less on topic!!

Great to see new work.

hello!
brianvds, your sketchings seem easy, but when i try to make, i find it is beacause you are a good sketcher! No problems for you for shadows and proportions. In order to make the same (lol) i have to work a long time.
marialena, i love your watercolors and specially the foot.
kedwords, the little bird (chickadee?) is very nice!

And then, first i post my sketchings done with the photos given by artbyjune .

second here is a watercolor on Arches paper (17 X 27 cm): the hand of the son of my son in my hand (you understand my english?)
Third the hands of an old lady. I went to the hospital, she was asleep and waiting, i dreww her hands
And in fine my hands drew when i was more younger!

You can critic, i wont to progress! Thank you for your comments.

Myse, welcome to the hands and feet project.

Those small images of the drawings you made from life look so exquisite. Can you post them in a larger size or give a link to your blog if they are posted there?
Maybe small sizes are all you have at the moment?

Your recent work from the photos in this thread are lovely too. The hand with the coin has a lovely 3D effect.

The chickadee is good too. They are such plump little birds (called coaltits in UK).

An extra challenge for this thread could be to concentrate on making some tonal drawings...all this really means is shading in the values BUT leaving out the contour lines around the subject.

I usually take the line approach like most artists...but the challenge of a tonal approach may be interesting to try...you could use charcoal, or paints. or any other medium which you think suits a tonal study.

I have not had time to do any drawings or paintings of the posted photos of hands and feet yet!!

Here is my version on the feeding bird image.
I made it as a sketch in one of my sketchbooks with a yellow school pencil and a cotton bud as pencils are not my medium and I don't have the proper materials.. But I made it this way for the sake of change.. :)

Thank you for your comments,artbyjune.
Today, i cannot load anymore drawings or paintings because i have a new computer and i do not know very well how to use it. The first one is broken.
I will ask my son when he will go at home ( for Christmas!).
I have tried to include links of my site in my signature but i do not know if i would have done well.

I want to say another time how happy i am to be here with you because you do lovely sketchings and paintings, and i desire really to do acrylics, watercolor, sketchings, and so on with progress. Thank you to host me.

Brian -great quickies……all very nice

Ydatografia - lovely watercolors, solid and lifelike. Your chickadee is lovely…..good work on the bird particularly with a non art pencil…….. you still have good blacks. Love the coin toss, awesome work.!!

Kedwards - yes, what a delightful chickadee….the glowing seeds are beautiful too

Myse - oh your sketches are very nice….really…..I love to see the same composition by different artists…….each of us have a unique contribution. The coin toss is really good…the fingernails are well done and the tentative language of the hand is clear and even all thru the hand and wrist….very nice!!

I hope to contribute soon.

thanks June for this fun thread.

maryse-rochette. I just managed to visit your artmajeur site. It took a while to get access and I even joined the site and set up a gallery there. Mainly to get in to see your work. I left a comment on one ofyour paintings and clicked on your follow button. Now please let me know if it all 'worked'.

That is a good site because it lets you send e-cards of your work. What a great idea!!

I think you need to attend to your signature because the links are not working...for me anyway!!

Thank you for visiting my site June. I have already visited your sites and I have to say that I 'm in love with your beautiful colourful journals. ( especially with your butterflies).

This kind of mixed media journaling art is an art field that I admire the most but I have never try it till now. :)

This watercolor is made on paper Moulin du Coq Le rouge, 40 x 30 cm.
I think the hand of the baby is too long. What do you think?

azulparsnip
01-22-2016, 09:14 AM
Myse - yeah, the baby's hand is too long but in most other respects this is a nice go. I like the dark lines defining the thumb and background. Really nice work on the skin tones and other forms too...it definitely has a gentleness about it.....

when I'm really connecting with the forms I will sometimes draw them out too much cause I get distracted with my inner reactions........it doesn't bother me too much but folks who are not artists usually don't understand what happened.........
