jaytee (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/member.php?u=4661) joined wetcanvas in 2001 and was member number 4661. She died after losing her fight with cancer on 16th November 2015 at home in Kington, Herefordshire. She was able to fulfil her wish to marry her partner Tony just before she died,

Janet was a dynamic personality who was once a BBC radio producer in London. When she retired she moved to a tiny cottage in Kington opposite the village church. Nothing was too much for Janet and she was deeply involved in the life of the village and was host to several mini meets at her home. Members from America and Canada, Australia and New Zealand were among the numerous members who met an loved her.

Her passion was her garden, her art and her dogs. In the past few years she took over a vacant shop in the village and opened a gallery where she also taught art. In 2014 she organised a mini meet at her gallery with the help of her close friends madmum and Stephie20.

Her art was wide ranging and included many mediums, watercolours and pastels being among them.

Janet will be sadly missed by her many friends.

One of her inimitable naive paintings of the churchyard from her cottage. Several wetcanvas members are depicted.

And outside her gallery in Kington last September. I think she was tickled that we came from the other side of the world to see her, not once but twice!
We stayed with her in 2010 and so enjoyed ourselves that we wanted to go back.

So sad about Janet when I learned about it on social media and didn't know this thread was here on WC. Recognize Kev, Guilli and Stephie in the photos and thanks for posting those. JT was so proud of her studio gallery and the world is a lonelier place without her in it. Rest in peace dear one!
