Hi Folks, its been a while, but here is a painting I did recently, and then I wasn't sure of it, so I have changed it, but I thought I would show it here, and then show you the newer version when I have finished it, its 51 x 51" acrylic on canvas. I suppose its a WIP now.

I love the colours in this but it does seem unfocussed somehow. I am looking forward to seeing the result of whatever changes you are going to make. By the way it is good to have you back!

Nice to see you back. Looking at your painting I think you are on your way here. I checked out what would happen if you flip it around and like it possibly better?

Here side by side.

I think the dark vs light corners speak to the eyes differently depending on where they are placed.

Welcome back Katie!!!

KATIE...glad you're back. I think it works with the weight at the bottom but for me the yellow needs to change. It's the same at the top as at the bottom. It feels like it wants to have depth but the yellow flattens it out

holy smokes that's a complex piece
and huge
i love your bravery
definitely following to see what you do
as it is i think it's both brilliant and terrifying, depending on the rotation
really like it either way up

I like this and am interested to see where you end up. I like the way the yellow and grey violet play with each other.

Hi there Katie! So good to have you back. This piece is bold and full of energy and lively with colors, as all of your pieces are. I wouldn't change a thing.

Hi Katie. So good to see you here and know you are painting again.

I love the boldness of this huge piece. I do like the inverted orientation more than the original presentation. Other than that I think it's a winner.

Hi Katie, good to see you back - I've been wondering where you were. I like this a lot especially the yellow and violet but feel that the yellow on the bottom could do with deepening to give more balance

Hi, thanks for all the encouragement! I have changed the name from Pert to Primal because there is nothing Pert about this painting.

I am happy with where I am at, although it is not finished. I think I have improved on the first version, but of course, I will let you decide on that...

It is likely that I will take out the bottom right-hand quadrant, it doesn't appeal quite as much, it looks a bit rigid, so this is why I like to stop, take a breath, and look at it over the next few day.

I will post it again in about a weeks time.

Different in the second version. Same level of "I like I like", I wish they could co-exist.

I see a man shouting at the pert tortoise he rides, seemingly angry because the turtle is fed by that big hamster on the top right although the man wants to return to the stable.

I also now 'see things'
but unlike daniel I think I shall keep those visions to myself

my shrink may be reading this post....

Have a great weekend!

Thanks ladies.
This is the final version. I will probably look at it again over the next couple of weeks and tweak it slightly, but its mainly done.
