For those who don't visit the Watercolor forum I thought you might wish to see my latest painting. I was inspired by a Youtube film by Danny Gregory I watched some time ago "To El and Back" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YxTwDtvY1E) starring Butch Belair sketching beneath the elevated railway in the Bronx. It is just the type of subject I like to get my teeth into, and I have been searching Street View for similar locations.

This scene from Google Streetview shows Kennedy's Chicken & Pizza, 2280 Jerome Avenue (https://goo.gl/maps/ksJHPsabNe22) has all the features I like, a typical city scene with enough detail of the El overhead railway. I had a really hard struggle with the shop sign and ended up painting it again and collaging it over the painting

I am told the place had a fire and may not be there today.

Looks good Doug. I like the tree shadows on the left. I will remember the collage trick for the lettering.

When I saw your name on this Doug I was surprised in the change of style. That's just what I have done. We old gits must keep experimenting.
This a great piece and I will look up the link you gave.

Just viewed that link and WoW! he is so accurate, but a steady hand too. Lovely work . Thanks
