Just started a new narrative series titled "Being Lucky", copyright 2015 Michael John dePierro. The image shown is a color pencil study for the first of eight paintings (paintings to be acrylic on paper). This page includes the caption "At the age of 4 LUCKY’S Gramama passed away." Thanks for looking at something that certainly doesn't fit this WC category.

"Abstract" is such a wide and friendly category...
"Contemporary" is even a wider portal...
and you are always welcome here!

now, back to the study for the painting.
I assume this is the time to make changes

i love this
'cepting for the light source
it seems as if it might be better
coming from the oval window

and perhaps add some mullions to the window.

and I think this concept is so cheery

you might also consider re-posting also in the Illustration Forum

Thanks Greggo. I like the mullion idea. The ambiguous light source is intentional. The light on the child could be from a simple ceiling light (or may it be heaven sent?) but it is not from the window. However the window does show that it is bright outside but somberly dim inside.

Well done.
Evocative piece.
