thank you. just to add some context, the image below was the original painting.
I tired of pretty. I want to make interesting.

what a leap! Way more interesting, challenging. I do enjoy the variations within the larger color areas, especially the white.

The only area I am a bit struggling with is the upper right, as I feel the isolated white blob too strong (IMHO). Personally, I feel like adding a hint of that wonderful blue you do elsewhere could do the trick.

I love this, what an improvement from the flower! It's energetic and so vibrant, love the marks. That upper right blob does bother me too, it's eye catching but lonely.

I also prefer something more challenging than 'pretty' paintings, and I think you did an awesome job with this one! I like the parts preserved from the original, the decisive brush strokes and the colors used, very interesting!

I think it is great that you tired of pretty! This is much more engaging than its predecessor. The colour has a dynamic range of value, hue and saturation, making this piece very dramatic.

From a critical perspective the five dots in the upper 2/3 create fairly static trapezoid, but you've cleverly drawn the eye away for a holiday with the collaged elements.

Keep it up. It's bound to be a beautiful (not merely pretty) and challenging series!

Awesome ! Thanks for all the fresh eyes. I will definitely look at some of those isolated shapes and maybe introduce a new hue to the problem one!
Thanks everyone. How exciting!!!!!
