I started playing with watercolours in July after teaching myself to draw and colour with alcohol markers and now I've decided to start a watercolour art journal to practice practice practice!
This is my first page. C & C most definitely welcome :)

Interesting choices. Like the way you did the hair on the head.

Wow, that blending on the hair and face is so smooth. Awesome work!

Thank you for the comments. I'm finding journaling and watercolours are quite satisfying! Hopefully I can keep improving.

Spooky and powerful, very thought provoking. Love the way you did the heart and laid out the scene, the glass is very effective too, very clean and elegant illustration. Not really horrific so much as spooky, suitable for a kid's book with the horror stuff, not the kind of gory that gives nightmares (unless the story is), and it looks very surreal, very dreamlike, of a girl feeling disempowered having her heart locked up in a jar and her eyes stitched shut with mandatory denial, no body at all, helpless in a bad situation and yet well groomed and pretty, on display at all times. Very powerful piece.

I hope you'll be adding more sketches. That is an interesting opening page.
