View Full Version : color choices, what to do what to do

two 16x20 simple landscape pieces [knife work]

the lower white areas have no paint on them (lower sky and lower foreground)
i Was going to paint them white, but thought, well, maybe a purple blue in the sky area and a pale dry/wet sand color for the other one?

i'm going for simple elegance so i don't want to clutter either one of them up, but wonder, is just white too simple? what color do you think is a better alternative?

The ochre green in the sky is very warm and comes forward so you'll have to bring the foreground forward. The White in the sky looks ok. It is difficult to fit anything with that ochre... Mauve?

I never could give much in the way of critique for your works as I love them all.

well lookee here, my lovely sys is back! i missed you

i've added gentle sand to the foreground of the treed one and feel okay about it
the other streaky thing is a nasty blob of red, on a ledge, grounded

show me something delicious!!
