Because I am sometimes unsure about technical matters
I did not initially comment on this

Even an abstract follows the basic rules of art...
I like the feel of this
I love the colors
composition is good

but the far side is floating above the water
it does not seem as if it is quite right
the aerial perspective is flawed

perhaps by cross-posting this in the Landscape Forum

http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=31

with a query on how to get the sense of depth corrected might be best
or if one of our experienced artists here has a clue...

it is sooooo close to being done
just a wash of this or that could bring it all together

respectfully

I humbly tend to disagree with Greggo. I find the whole nicely executed.

I often am wrong, But that has never slowed me down...
I appreciate the humbleness, and
I guess I missed the unique and special place this "Lake" as I referred to it as
has in the hearts and minds of so many
Is the Sea really that blue?
it must be dazzling in the middle of such an arid region.

this reminded me of the roads leading down to Seneca Lake
in the Finger lake region of central NY state
another trulu beautiful area.

Thank you very much

hm... I too see Greg's point about depth... but you are happy that makes me happy. Foreground (those shadows on the path!) = great.

Yes, very strong foreground.

I think this is divided by the value of the water being the same as the sky (or close to) and when I dark the value of the water to the same as the foreground it becomes a very strong piece

I changed the collor of the water, and took of the black
Line...

Excellent! That subtle change really balanced out all the compositional elements.
