Thought I'd post one in Prismacolor too. This one is on a blue suede matboard, but it scanned darker than it is.
I have shown this one at a local show. I like to see how people view my paintings...... this one was really funny because everyone tilted their heads and smiled just like the boy in the picture! :p http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Jul-2001/LittleBoyBlue2.jpg

I love this!! I had to laugh, because as I was reading your post about people tilting their heads I realized my head was tilted looking at the picture LOL!! :D It's beautiful. I can't wait to get my coloured pencils back out and give it another try (I've only done 2 or 3 c/p portraits so far.... still need lots of practice

This is so adorable.. even if I DO have a kink in my neck now! LOL!
The color scheme along with the blue matboard is fabulous. Great use of highlights.
Gotta get those c/p of mine out!

This is a wonderful color piece! THe color, composition, and expression all work together - they create (you created) a great work here! :)
How did you find working on suede matt board? Did you have to do anything special?

Wonderful! and very blue, indeed! I wouldn't mind a warmer complexion... I think the title would still stand nicely!

JeanineJ - hello - this really did scan darker than it is. I will have to look at it again and check the warmer tones, you know how it is when you've looked at a project to long.... sometimes you just fail to see what you've missed! ;)
wendee & journey341 thanks so much. :)
Verdaccio, thanks! This kids a clown! Put him in front of a camera and you never know what he'll do! I should really thank him!
The suede matboard is really fun to work on. (I cannot stand the Canson Mi Tientes papers. But it does come in colors.) I started using this after seeing it used at a cpsa demo. Its very forgiving and comes on lots of colors too!. I have another portrait & a cat on different colors of the same material. The only thing is because it is the top of a matboard, it may not be ph balanced and that may be a drawback for you.
I didn't have to use anything special. I blended with my fingers & used a kneaded eraser to lift the color I wanted to remove. Saved the sharp pencil tips for the last details. Does this help any? Let me know if you have any other questions, okay?
