Thought I should post a piece that has resulted partially from the Homage texture series. I guess in some ways you could look at the Homage works as "texture sketches". When I find combinations and methods of integrating textures that work well, I have a starting place for something more. This piece includes textures that I first experimented with in the Homage works.

"Pastoral Syncopations" is 24" x 36" acrylic mixed media on cradled wood panel, including modeling paste, glass, cotton, and pouring medium:

And a detail shot, so that you can see some of the textures more readily:

Maybe it's your camera or this computer, but I find it hard to see the top part. Sort of reminds me of a field of wheat under a high sky. Intriguing.

just the sort of ART that I would buy
serene and uplifting
does not make a statement
more like classical music
on a dock
the music wafts over the lake
from the Spring May Day concert

Lovely, calm, peaceful, and certainly pastoral. Great textures and soft colors. Must be fabulous IRL.

This must be great in real life. I love the little dew drops. Yes, this is one I could live with too!
